It was such a surprise winning the artist challenge.
I find that I need to have a connection with the subject for it to work.
I am drawn to the abstract and quirky in art which may not be of interest to many so have contemplated and cogitated choosing this current artist.
I have considered whether it should be an artist or a photographer and both have been chosen in previous challenges.
I am conscious that it needs to be open to a wider audience to get people to participate. No guarantees though.
Looking back through topics for discussion on 365 I found an article posted by @boxplayer in June 2022 mentioning an exhibition featuring photos by the enigmatic American 'street' photographer Vivian Maier.
I particularly liked her unusual take on Street photography.
I believe that this has already been done but no harm in revisiting this style.
@farmreporter I can’t believe how many times I checked that other artists have been done but not this one. A problem with not having a running list I guess. I will add the 2. Thank you Wendy.
@farmreporter I was drawn to her style and hopefully others will be. I have just looked and noticed that the challenge was back in 2013 so will be new to many.
there is a list of artists/photographers that have been previously covered. i had previously provided this link, but should be updated every time a new challenge starts. i try to update it every now and then.
this list was started in alphabetical order, but i decided when i took over this that the listing should be in the order that the artist was featured. i have no problem continuing the keeping of this list.
P.S. Vivian Maier had been featured 2 times before. this then would be the 3rd time. @wakelys@farmreporter
@summerfield great minds like me have chosen this Photographer. By the response it seems to be a popular choice.
How would the next winner access this list or shall I just copy your link in at the end.
It would have saved me endless trawling if I knew this existed.

@wakelys - Sue, i have already updated the list with the latest Vivian Maier so no need for you to update it. anyone can just click on that link to see the artists that have already been covered. then the current host will only need to add his/her choice. once a name is added, the document is saved/updated automatically. @farmreporter
