Show me landscape from where you live!
Im always envious of everyone who posts beach pictures thinking our landscape is boring! But i know compared to some of you my landscape is different and still interesting! here is my photo from today
we do not live on a farm but fields like this surround our town :)
we live in IOWA USA
This is the first thing that came to mind for me - northern Colorado after a snow storm in the mountains, and we got nothing, not one inch! What a lovely idea, I should shoot more landscapes around here.
I started a discussion similar to this one a week or so ago, but you took it one step further by asking people to indicate WHERE they live by showing off the landscapes. Here are a few of mine. Right now it isn't very pretty because we are just coming out of winter so things are not lush and green, but in a couple of months everything will be much more colorful.
I live in south central Iowa, USA. This one is of western Iowa, about 150 miles from where I live. It is hard to tell from this photo, but Iowa has lots of hills and valleys. The countryside really is quite beautiful once spring, summer, and autumn come. Winters, on the other hand, are somewhat bleak.
This one is of my backyard, taken before a nasty spring storm.
And this one was taken just a mile over the hill from where I live.
Landscapes are my favorite thing to photograph. If you want to see more of my landscapes, there are plenty others in both of my albums.
@dejongdd crazy! Iowa seems boring landscapewise to me but ive been here my whole life! but we do have strong seasons so im going to try to capture them in my project :)
@indiannie_jones Is your first picture of the beach at Limassol, it looks very familiar. I stayed in Limmasol years ago whilst I was on tour with a hockey team I played for. Today a song came on my ipod which I always associate with lying on a sun lounger as the sun was setting on Limassol beach next to a peir.
If I remember correctly there was a childrens playground right next to the beach.
It's odd that I heeard the song today for the first tiem in months and saw a picture of what seems to be almost the same spot.
(Now wait for me to look like a fool when you say it's a different beach!)
@emmar84 Eeeeeek, Emma, that's the one! We only have two and the other is further away and looks different. The playground you're thinking of is the park, which is opposite this beach! :D
@indiannie_jones *does an excited dance*
Well thank you for posting that picture, it has made my day and i'm off to fav it now so I can find it easily again in future! On teh day I remember I was lying just out of frame of your picture. Very odd coincidence!
I think I'll go to bed now and try to figure out why I'm being prompted to think of that week!
Gosh, this is waaaaay back from like day 4 of my project!! But it's really the only true landscape shot I have done so far. I live in Northwest Ohio...mostly fields around the area -- I was standing in my driveway for this picture one morning
My project doesn't have that many landscape shots yet - I am more into cityscapes.
But this shot I took yesterday shows the surrounding countryside very well:
OK so this is mine, taken from the car ...not stopping so the children didn't wake up and we could get a few more moments of peace and quiet before we got home.

I live in Nebraska, USA.

@brandywalker365 People always want what they dont have. I'm from Ohio and I moved to the San Francisco Bay area for work. Although currently I am OBSESSED with the beach, alot of people pass it without a glance.... all while planning their long weekends in the snowy mountians (no thank you I've spent enough time in the snow) Each location is beautiful and different. You capture amazing photos..
My family is in Long Beach, CA and that is where I grew up so I spend a lot of time there!
and North Texas (Lewisville Lake):

Here's the landscape at our beach house in Galveston, Texas (just an hour away)
and then at the Ranch which is about 8 hours away, way way south in Bracketville, Texas.
and then to throw this in for good measure. (I'm highlighting the caliche pits here, I promise....lol!)
