This is just a reminder for everyone that July 1st we will begin the Black and White photo challenge for the month of July! Feel free to take black and white photos weekly or daily - the point is simply to improve our black and white photography. Selective color may be used as well, if you wish. Similar to the June gratitude challenge, this thread will serve as a place to post your photos and comment on each others' work.
this picture was taken without my models permission ;o)
I just love to watch her sleeping, innocent, almost woman but still so vulnerable, my baby... the colors were already faded so b/w was my best option. I added a little grain later.
@kittynme Thanks Cindy! I took a b&w photo of my patio table after the rain. Then in PS I selected different water spots and changed their colors :). I also increased the contrast a bit to make it pop a little more.
@janetsteiner No worries! There's a little Copy box down on the right side of the photo you want to post...you just copy that html code, and paste it here in a reply and there your pic will be!
The sun cast my shadow upon the hard concrete and I paused to consider how light can both expose and deepen the soul. The best part of m, is most likely yet to be. I can see glimpse of it, like capturing my shadow and when I move it is gone. It is a glimpse of potential, of the future, yet unclear forming wordlessly undercover and as of yet, fleeting.
@robentley1 I never thought somebody would ask me! haha It's pretty simple, I hardly used Photoshop.
I dress up in black and go to a black furniture I have
I set my camara's ISO in 100 or 200 and I get a photo that looks like this http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/801/p1010167kk.jpg/
You can see that there are still some hair and buttons on the pic hehe
So then I start playing with the bright and contrasts until the backround is totally black and the hand is still visible.
I then remove the noise with a noise application (By setting the ISO in 100 or 200 there shouldn't be to many noise)
And... I guess that's it. If you want to give it a try, let me know and I can help you :)
@robentley1 I always did the photos at night but just because I didn't have time during the day. I don't own a tripod, but yes I used the timer, then place the camera were I wanted and then I modeled haha
Marinda (@marinda) The wispy detail on your wheat(?) photo is fabulous. And your July 24th shot is evocative. Seems you have a knack for being both beautifully sharp and creamy at the same time.
Heres my 2 most recent posts for the challenge, Im really enjoying it, its the first challenge ive done :-)
