Inspired by 'Nicker's Vicker', 2005 pencil on paper

For the get pushed challenge this week, Mary Siegle @mcsiegle suggested I do something inspired by the American artist, Andrew Wyeth (1917-2009) https://andrewwyeth.com/
This was my second attempt.
This lovely lady is a good friend of my daughter's and attended a garden party held at our property yesterday. I tried to change it in photoshop to something that looked more like a pencil drawing and then overlaid a texture.
@mcsiegle - I forgot to tag you Mary. This is a response to your artist challenge. It was quite a challenge. I learned how to change to a pencil or sketch in photoshop which I am really happy about. I decided to also add a texture to make it maybe more of a hand done thing? Thanks for the push - it was a challenge - but it was also enjoyable.

Well done Delwyn ….I imagine this photo looks very unlike the original colour one. The hat really lends itself to your treatment especially…I think your daughters friend would rather like it

I had to look up Andrew Wyeth. What an interesting style he has. Well done on both your attempts. This is my preferred image

Well done! You’ve really captured the style of Wyeth’s portrait. Mission accomplished!
