Food for the soul #7

In the eye of the beholder? Yes, sure. Often under a cover of dust and nostalgia.
love the tonal range in this. Such a shame about that flat tyre.

My maths teacher had one of these (that was many years ago). A group of us once picked it up and put it in the staff room for him...he was nowhere near as delighted as we were.

A little Fiat! They're becoming quite popular again I'm glad to say

I think that they are just so fun, says the driver of a VW bug....

Cute little car. But wouldn't fit Maggie or my golf clubs very well.

Italian icon, I am happy, to see some being restored lately.

Wonderful tones in this shot, there are still quite a few to be seen here.

@helenhall thank you! I believe it was waiting to be shipped to some collector...
@graemestevens I bet he gave you a test immediately afterwards...
@fbailey Yes, a 500! The direction of its doors’ opening dates it about 1962-63.
@joysabin are you? I love the beetles!
@golftragic for those, you need a Porsche 911: they say it was an improvement over the 365 because the trunk was enlarged so as to accommodate a golf bag...
@angelikavr isn’t it? I’m so sad to know my grandma’s one has been given away...
@ludwigsdiana thank you very much! Really are there some in SA?

Lovely little car, love the backdrop for the image against the wood panels.

@leonbuys83 Thank you, it is really tiny even compared to a modern Smart.

@domenicododaro If by "test" you mean "suspended from school for a week" then yes, yes he did ;))

@domenicododaro Oh dear, don't want to slum it with a Porsche, I thought maybe a Lamborghini might be better???? In the meantime my 10 y.o. Peugeot 308 will have to do.

Little beauty! A friend had one (or its equivalent) 50 years ago in Zambia. It skated over the dirt roads with ease while I would get stuck in the mud with my Ford Zephyr !
April 16th, 2020
@golftragic hahaha certainly a Lamborghini would be much flashier!
@lostphojo Zambia! I’d love to visit Equatorial and sub-Equatorial Africa. It’s my dream trip. But I need time. We’re you there for work or for leisure?

Completely timeless in presentation.
April 17th, 2020
@domenicododaro I don't think that criterion would impress my bank manager!!

@domenicododaro Work, for 4 years in my twenties. Great experience

@jyokota 😊
@golftragic those ice-hearted beings!
@lostphojo must have been!

@domenicododaro Not wrong!! Of course a Lamborghini is an essential to go in the garage with the BMW big 4WD, the Lexus and the top-of-the-line Mercedes runabout. After all, everyone needs a well-balanced garage, don't want to lower the tone of the neighbourhood.
April 18th, 2020
@golftragic Agreed. Bare necessities...
April 18th, 2020
bambina! my friend's mother had one of these when i was a kid
April 19th, 2020
@graemestevens hahaha i can just picture that
April 19th, 2020
@kali66 It certainly came as a surprise to a number of the teachers.
April 19th, 2020
@domenicododaro Definitely, don't need to slum it even in these dire times.
April 19th, 2020
@kali66 did you call it like this, or is it a common nickname in NZ? It’s very sweet!
April 19th, 2020
@domenicododaro i thought that was what they were called! haha maybe it is just a nz nickname
April 19th, 2020
@kali66 In Italy, they were (and are) called “the 500”.
