2015 February 23: Last Thanksgiving we traveled to my father-in-law's home for a family reunion/holiday celebration in the town my husband and I lived in for decades growing up. While there, I took several cuttings of a fig bush that my father-in-law has grown in his yard for a good many years; I was hoping to use one as a "living memorial stone" to remind me of the good times that we had there.
Recently I noticed that at least one of the cuttings has rooted and is now putting forth shiny green leaves! Judging from the size of its parent plant, it has the potential of becoming a large, beautiful bush that will grace my yard for years to come.
