2015 March 9: For the past few days, I have been seeing a good many Common Grackles in mixed flocks with Red-winged Blackbirds. They are beautiful birds, and I enjoy hearing their animated conversations with each other as the flock perches high in the tree tops.
This photo is a Common Grackle perched high up in one of my poplar trees, loudly singing in what I surmise must be considered on-key in bird song.
