Day 90 of 365: Carolina Wren with Nesting Material
2015 March 31: I heard a commotion out on my deck and looked out to see a couple of Carolina wrens excitedly carrying nesting material ...and building a nest underneath my grill cover. They looked so cute, so energetic, and so happy about building their home, but I was unwilling to give up my grill for an entire season ...so I reluctantly removed the cover to keep them from building their nest there. As the nest was just started, they seemed to take it well; I am hoping that they will pick another place close by!
