Brown Thrasher

Day 92 of 365: Brown Thrasher

2015 April 2: The Brown Thrashers in my yard are rather stealthy, but today I was thrilled that I managed to get a few photos of this one stalking through my back yard in search of a good meal.

As an interesting note: Brown Thrashers sing more than 1,100 different song types, and they also often imitate other birds. (To put this in perspective, a male Northern Mockingbird [noted for the many songs and sounds that they sing throughout the day and into the night] sings around 200 different song types.)

Lovely shot. Similar to our thrush.
