Day 248 of 365: 2015 College Football Season Begins
2015 September 5: Today the 13 - 14 week college football season began. Although we enjoy watching several teams in our (SEC) Conference play, in my family we all agree on our favorite. Each week my family gathers in our "home theater/den" to watch our favorite team on TV and cheer (OK, we sometimes "boo") while they play.
Our main focus on Football Saturdays, however, is our "home tailgate": Each week we prepare the food that we would like to have if we ever were to attend a game ...various grilled foods one week, Pizza another, and then Chili later in the season when the weather grows cold. Whichever food we choose for the week, we joyfully feast together while we watch the game.
Today we began our "Tailgate Season" with smoked barbecue chicken. (After we cooked it in our smoker for 11 hours, it was well done and delicious!).
Knowing that I would like to commemorate this occasion with my photo-of-the-day, I took several photos of the television coverage while we watched the game.
Well, Roll Tide!!! For us it was UGA, UGA, Go Dawgs!!!! We (John and I) watch it at home too, but it's just us, still we have great fun, jumping up and down, booing the other team, even though we slaughtered them!! Someone has to do the heckling!!! LOL Fantastic collage and sounds like a lot of fun at hour house!! FAV!!
@cashew Thanks, Kathy ...It's great to know that other people do this too! We usually are booing the refs--LOL. 51-14 certainly is starting the season off with a slaughter! I hope that your team has a winning year --Go Dawgs!
Loving your photo and your commentary. What a wonderful tradition for your family! Your enthusiasm comes through, and the thought of your yummy chicken makes me hungry! :-)
