2015 November 14: We have experienced a couple of nights of freezing temperatures lately, so most of my summer plants are fading quickly. I took this photo of a rose that is still gracing my flower bed, as I don't expect it to last much longer -- and decided to add "Artistic" effects to it
I also added the colors of the French and US flags as a border to my pic-- simply to make it a small tribute to all that the French people have meant to my country. No one in my family knows anyone in France, but the history and fabric of our countries are intertwined. After serving in Alaska during World War II, my father was stationed in France; he spoke fondly of the people there.
I hope that the people impacted by this recent senseless tragedy know of the outpouring of support from across the world, and receive at least a small measure of comfort from it.
