Cold Carolina Chickadee by dsp2

Cold Carolina Chickadee

2016.01.10: Today was our coldest day so far this winter; even though I watched our feeders several times throughout the day, I saw very few birds. I did, however, enjoy watching a couple of Carolina Chickadees flitting about for a few minutes. This one paused for a moment to soak up some sunshine before grabbing a quick bite from the feeder and flying back to his nest for warmth.
Well captured, they would be like our flighty little wrens I would imagine :)

Our Chickadees are quick to come to the railing when seed is put out for them. They always seem to be scolding us for not be more prompt with the seed.

Awww, such a sweet capture. Love to see them basking in whatever sun they can find on a cold day. Amazing how they survive the Winter. Little miracles, they are.
