2016.02.28 Sunday: I haven't been to a political rally since I was a young child ...not because I don't care about politics (I do care!), but rather because I have mostly lived in places that weren't "important" enough for candidates to visit. This weekend, however, two of the major candidates stopped by my area on their way to larger cities. One candidate held a private super-fancy fundraising event for large donors, while the other candidate held a public event at a local stadium ...I and my family went to the public event.
I have a compulsion :) to take photos everywhere I go, so I was happy to have my smartphone camera and not have to lug my "real" camera through the crowd. Still, I found it amusing that so many people in the crowd automatically raised their camera phones every time a new speaker approached the stage ...Evidently I am not the only one addicted to photography!
Love all the hands in the air!! LOL Great capture of the crowds!! I care about politics, but this year, not enough to go to a rally, because I don't really like any of those in the running!! Everyone is too busy running the others down to talk about what needs to be done. FAV!
You really capture the excitement of the event, and I love how the sunlight plays upon the crowd in the foreground. It is a very interesting election year.
There is a lot at stake this time out. My husband is the more politically active of the two of us. But I'm always listening to the things he's reading about and watching on tv. I doubt any candidates will come to our local area, but I'm sure some of the bigger cities near us will be part of their campaign trail.
