Fallen Poplar by dsp2

Fallen Poplar

2016.03.08: Our poplar trees have been slowly dying, but we have left them in place because the birds like to nest in them -- and the woodpeckers daily like to drill into them!

However, with all the rain and strong wind that we have experienced lately, another poplar fell down and will now have to be cut up for mulch. I suppose that it is time that we just admit that their time is past, and begin re-landscaping that portion of our yard.
You could make willow fences with this timber! Very fashionable now!

It is always sad to lose trees, they become your friends :)

Mulch or fencing either is a good use. Trees are such an integral part of a garden or wider landscape that it is sad to see them die

There's something exciting about doing something new and different in some part of the garden. Mr C always likes to have a new project on the go. I look forward to seeing what you do.

ah that's a shame, but sometimes it's good to renew!
