Blackberry Winter by dsp2

Blackberry Winter

2016.05.03 Tuesday: Last night began what is expected to be several days of "Blackberry Winter" -- a late-spring cold snap that usually occurs when the blackberries are in bloom.

Today's high as recorded by my outdoor thermometer was 64 degrees F (around 17 degrees C, I believe); tonight's low is forecast to be around 49 degrees F (around 9 degrees C, if Google is correct).

I forgot to take a pic of our blackberry blooms until it was quite dark outside, so as soon as I remembered I got our strongest flashlight and headed outdoors to take a nighttime photo of one. This is a bloom on one of our Loganberries; these are a type of thorn-less blackberry.
Lovely capture...

@ribbet9 You've got good eyes, Candace! I did not notice the insect until I looked at the pic again today ...I don't like insects at all, but I put up with them because some of beloved birds like to eat them :)
