2016.06.04 Saturday: Brown Thrashers are one of my top favorite birds ...so I enjoyed seeing this one perched on my deck today.
Brown Thrashers sing more than 1,100 different song types, and also imitate other birds. Their song can easily be mistaken for that of a Northern Mockingbird -- but Brown Thrashers only repeat the phrases of their song in pairs, while mockingbirds do so in triplets.
