Female House Finch by dsp2

Female House Finch

2017.12.27 Wednesday: Our weather was windy and bitterly cold throughout the day -- but the birds and squirrels stayed quite active!

Every time that I looked out at our feeders, birds were flitting about and digging around in the leaves in search of food. (They found quite a bit, as a squirrel managed to open a feeder and rake quite a bit of seed out!)

This beautiful female House finch lit on our deck for several moments while patiently waiting her time at the feeder ...I enjoyed watching her!
Good close up

I often confuse these with Song Sparrows. We have an abundance of house finches that come to our feeders.
