2018.01.31 Wednesday: This morning I was up-and-out well before dawn so I could get some photos of the Super Blue Blood moon. It was slightly cloudy when I first went outdoors -- and quite cold at 27 degrees F (-2.77 C). The ground was still crunchy with frost firmly clinging to the grass.
I stayed outdoors for quite a while, watching the western sky in awe as the moon got progressively darker, lower, and more red with each passing minute of the eclipse. In the east, clouds near the rising sun turned bright red as the sun rose behind the mountains.
This afternoon I posted several of my pics in the Dogwood Photography Chatter group, asking which people preferred so I could choose my "best." This time-lapse got 100 percent of the vote!
Beautiful composite and extra points for braving the COLD to get the shots.
Here is was 55 degrees, mostly clear with a little marine mist. I was barefoot and the moon was glorious.
Instant FAV! Your time spent in the cold was well worth your effort...this is amazing! I've never tried a time-lapse. Thanks for highlighting this technique.
