Watching the Olympics

2018.02.09 Friday: Events in PyeongChang occur 15 hours ahead of my time zone (Central Time) -- but I still watched tonight's broadcast enthralled as team after team walked through in the Opening Ceremony of the 2018 Winter Olympics. According to the news channel, USA sent 134 male athletes and 108 women athletes to compete in the games.

The Opening Ceremonies were beautifully done; I snapped pic after pic to place in my scrapbook and remember this joyous time when the world could gather together in good-natured sports competition.

It was a good opening ceremony, shame it is so politically charged though. I wish sport could just be about the sport. Will be fun to watch though

Beautiful set of shots to record the event. Malta has one competitor in these games - and she probably lives abroad because Winter Sports do not exist here as our Winter is mild, no snow, no ice and no mountains.

@huvesaker I agree! I enjoy watching the sports, but wish politics could just be forgotten for the duration of the games. So far we have enjoyed seeing some amazing athletes!
