Wicking Bed by dsp2

Wicking Bed

2018.05.02: I have been very busy planting our garden now that the weather has warmed ...so far I have planted tomatoes, cucumbers, cantaloupe, watermelon, peppers, sunflowers, and a good many various flowers.

While I am planting, my husband and sons are building a new wicking bed in our garden; this is their progress so far. Hopefully they will finish it this weekend, and I will be able to fill it with this year's onion crop.
well, a wicking bed! That's my new learning for the day :)

@anniesue @ribbet9 Wicking beds are wonderful for my area! The spring rains fill up the reservoir area, and then once the plants are established their roots wick up the stored water. Using these, we only have to water our garden a bit during extended hot dry spells.

A very clever idea.
