2018.11.08 Thursday: There have been recent reports of a pair of American advocets seen at Arrowhead Landing, so my son and I took advantage of a break in the rain to head to the other side of our county and see if we could spot these beautiful birds.
We had never been to this birding spot before, so we were both quite surprised to find that it is a very primitive and isolated location -- although perhaps we shouldn't have been so surprised, as it is on the grounds of a nearby national wildlife refuge.
We found that we were a couple of days late to see this pair of birds migrating through our area -- but we did get to see some glorious autumn foliage and drink in some beautiful views!
Beautiful It's ashamed that you missed the birds. I hope that lovely views like this made up for it. I'm enjoying my Mac, but I've got a lot to learn :)
