April 4, 2019 Thursday: Having seen a thread on 365Project in which Diana Ludwigs @ludwigsdiana and Vera @vera365 mentioned "A Year with My Camera," I checked into it and found that a class was starting April 4! Our first homework assignment was to take a fill-the-frame photo of a white sheet of paper, and another of a black item ...in order to learn that "Auto" focus on the camera sees both as grey.
I also learned that Autofocus on my camera needs contrast in order to take a photo (Oh, that explains a lot!). As a work-around, I focused on a nearby object, and then pressed the back-focus button.
These are my results from the first homework assignment.
I also started AYWMC today, not sure how easy it is going to be for me to complete as I shall be travelling for the next three months but I am starting with all good intentions. See you along the way Dinah!
@gaylewood Wonderful to hear that we can encourage each other along the way! I replied to your fb message and will be looking for your posts in the facebook group now :)
@joansmor It's only Week 1 now and I have already learned helpful info, and it is nice doing it with a group. Hopefully October will work out for you!
When you have more time: If you would like to check out the material that is covered in the course - or work at your own pace, Emma Davies has a couple of books "A Year With My Camera, Book 1" and "A Year With My Camera, Book 2" that cover the course material ...Amazon has a "look inside" of these books.
