Thank you so much for the views, lovely comments and faves on my shot for Saturday.
Lester and I went to Emberton Country Park on the outskirts of Milton Keynes today. It's been a beautiful day and we enjoyed walking round the lake and feeling the sun on our backs.
There was a group of the now inevitable seagulls on the lake and I spent some time trying to get a clear shot of one in flight. This was the best result.
I had the camera on full auto settings on its sports programme which allows a continuous burst of shots.
I wish I could get a shot like this with the camera under full manual control. I hope, that with practice, I'll eventually be able to. I'm not a very ambitious person, but occasionally there's something in life I really, really want to do and this is what it is now.
Meanwhile, this is going into my album as a kind of target.
If it takes me so long that I end up having to mount the camera on a Zimmer frame to practise, so be it! And it would be really good if I can find a bird willing to fly into the shot rather than out of it. :-D
Critique welcome. Veteran 365er, 2011 vintage. Only posting occasionally and irregularly now.
I'm an abstract photography enthusiast but not exclusively so.

You've done really well with that shot. Great focus just on the gull. I tried loads of spots mode shots with the birds the other day and they all were blurry.
Trying to picture you using a zimmer frame as a tripod- ha
Maybe I should set up a selfie? ;-D
