16th January 2014

Blue… day 4.

ICM… intentional camera movement!

A collection of my favourite blue scarves with a bit of motion blur. With all this rain recently it is a challenge to find inspiration outside.

Camera update - we drove all the way to Elstree and back to deliver my camera to Canon for a second opinion. The technician was not that optimistic about cover by warranty but did mention the possibility of repairs as a 'good will gesture'… watch this space!
I couldn't open your facebook link

@axika Hi there, sorry about that. I have checked and it seems to work and I checked that all my setting are 'open' - try this link (it is the same) and hopefully it will work, thank you for the 'fave's as well :-) https://www.facebook.com/pages/Emma-Durnford-LRPS-Photographer/186301661422523

Nice one! So what's up with your camera?

You made a beautiful abstract of your scarves, Emma--love the bits of deep pink to highlight the blues. Can't wait for the next installment of the camera saga. And thank-you, I am watching the post.

Thanks you all, @steampowered a long story which I've gone into a bit on the 17th of January's pic. Basically it suffered a massive failure on Christmas Eve which was found to be due to water ingress (it's only been exposed to light rain showers by accident a few times when I didn't have my Optech rain covers with me, and always dried after) on the dial assembly near the shutter release. Water corrosion/damage is not covered by the Canon warranty… check out the promotional literature which states the camera is weather sealed for harsh shooting conditions. A happy ending sort of… but basically Nikon cover this damage and Canon do not. I feel let down as I am so loyal to Canon!! @tristansmum a happy ending but stressful for the week or so I thought I would have to pay and was planning a case for the small claims court!

The colours in this are great. Glad they will show 'good-will' - I always thought one of the things going for the high end canons was that they were wether proof

@taz_o Yes, that's what I thought! The repairs will be undertaken as a 'goodwill' gesture and we're driving up to Elstree again on Tuesday to collect it :-)

Great abstract, will have to try that if I run out of blue inspiration. Actually blue's relatively easy, will struggle when I get to orange month or pink month....
