12th February 2014

With all this flooding, gales and disaster effecting people across the country, I thought I would try and cheer everyone up with some spring flowers.

This time last year it was bitterly cold and we were in-between snow storms. So far it has been incredibly mild so the spring flowers are coming out early. Unfortunately the heavy rain has flattened a lot of these crocuses (croci?) but the daffodils are standing strong in the face of adversity!
Very cheering and hopeful Emma! Love that clump of yellow daffs in the middle of all the blue, like a glint of sunshine on water.

@tristansmum Don't mention the water ha ha! How are you and do you have the walking cast yet? I love the fact that you are still posting every day and it is a pleasure to see colour and sunlight.

@emmadurnford I get the walking cast a week from this coming Friday. I don't think I will be able to prance blithely around on it right away, I believe there is a period of getting used to it, being able to put some weight on that foot but not as much as one normally would, etc. I will just do my best according to what the surgeon tells me. Thanks for enjoying my fillers--I'm so glad I took tons of photographs last year, as now I have lots to choose from. Joshua Bear sends his love, and says he is keeping an eye on me!

Jo
Certainly cheered me up, a very lovely sight amidst all this horrid weather.
