22nd February 2014

Our last morning of looking after the cats next door and I've managed to get a fleeting shot of Soda who is definitely more camera shy than Whisky (see his 'pawtrait' from earlier in the week - http://365project.org/emmadurnford/2014-365-projec/2014-02-19).

Soda is over 20-years old now and was rescued as a kitten by our neighbours mother. Although she is on the skinny side, she is very well and more than capable of giving the odd swipe of her paw to Whisky when he gets a bit too pushy.
Nice one! I can see that she is an elderly lady but still looking good for her years. That Speedlight course of yours can't be too far away now. Say "Hello" to John Clements (the tutor) for me.

@tristansmum @lhiphonesnaps Thank you both, I have never heard the word Calicoes before, I thought they were called tortoiseshells? Soda is really funny as she looks quite frail but is actually very fit and also teases the family dog as well.

@emmadurnford Actually, a calico is a tortoiseshell and white, but maybe that's just a North American thing?

@emmadurnford In the USA, we would call her a calico cat and as the story goes about 9/10 are females. And I love them! :)

@tristansmum @lhiphonesnaps I had a quick look and apparently in the UK they are called Tortoiseshell and Whites but I actually prefer Calico and White :-)

@emmadurnford I think you call my cat a marmalade cat, I prefer that over orange tiger stripe!
