25th September 2016

I found out when I was away that the local Teddington RNLI were holding an open day today. They had contacted me to ask for permission to use some of my past photographs on their publicity which was fine by me as I consider it my donation to the charity. Unfortunately they missed the ‘r’ out of my name but never mind, all in a good cause!

The station was open to visitors and the crew also gave live demonstrations of a river rescue which involved the most recent recruits drawing the short straw to be ‘casualties’ that had to be rescued. I photographed two of the demos from different sides of the river and this was a well timed shot of the first casualty going into the water after an ‘argument’ with another crew member that resulted in her ‘falling in’ as well!

Here are some other shots from the exercise in sequence... https://www.facebook.com/Emma-Durnford-LRPS-Photographer-186301661422523/photos/?tab=album&album_id=1233740573345288
