4th January 2013

Today we walked to Mousehole from Penzance and by chance it was the last night that the Mousehole Christmas lights were on this season.

The light display around the harbour has been running for 49-years and was especially impressive this year with a central tribute for the Queen's Diamond Jubilee.

It was pretty nippy photographing using the tripod at the end of harbour wall though!
Fab. What happens when the tide comes in, do they float? Beautiful.

The ones in the harbour are on floating pontoons. The harbour is closed to boats for the 3-week display. There is a great whale with a winking eye and 3-dolphins that flash to look like they are jumping. Around the walls of the harbour are various designs including a 'Stargazy' pie, cat and Christmas pudding - excellent!
