Snow, snow, snow! At last it has arrived and it is still snowing. These Canada Geese were looking for food along the Thames footpath near Richmond. It was literally a blizzard in the few hours I went out to photograph.
Unfortunately snow is best photographed in brighter weather and when it has stopped snowing!!
@nicoleterheide@steampowered Thank you both, needless to say I took quite a few as they moved around and I got quite wet knees despite the waterproof trousers. My favourite lens (Canon 24-70mm f2.8) is in having its collars replaced and for recalibration and I am finding my old kit lens quite a challenge to use - it has also got condensated today as it is not as weather-proof as my other one - fingers crossed it clears by tomorrow)
@steampowered - tell me about it! At least the 24-70 is due to wear and tear, I'm trying to think of it like car tyres, worn out though usage!! The macro is 'shot' however although manual focus still works so it will be OK for use with a tripod :-(
@nicolaeastwood - I'm thinking about it although I use a square format for my range so I might have a look at others I took at the same time to see if any work as a square.
The snowing certainly adds to the mood - flakes resting on the goose's back - so clear on the first one and then softening as snowflakes do as the view recedes into the background. The S line carries the eye so beautifully to the background trees. The work behind getting the photo - really pays off.
