This is a jumble of trees, lianas, and ferns... this is what the jungle is really like, viewed from the Sungai Tehan river. It is totally impenetrable once you stray from the trails unless you carry a machete and as we would have had problems with Customs at Heathrow we kept to the trails!
@maggiemae Thank you, I do feel very lucky to be able to travel so much (advantage of retired husband and a freelance job!). I think Taman Negara is the wildest place we have been with the most dangerous creatures (mostly spiders and scorpions). There are still wild elephants and tigers in the jungle but never anywhere near civilisation.
