If you look amongst the Ragwort flowers you will see a number of yellow and black stripy caterpillars. They are Cinnabar Moth caterpillars which develop into totally different coloured red and black moths.

They have a sinister side as I discovered that they often turn cannibal and eat each other if they run out of ragwort - nice!
You can really see the caterpillars when viewed large. Impressive photo. Fav

Love the colour and random pattern in this. I wonder if the last two caterpillars left would fight each other to see who gets to eat whom?
