There are even more birds if you look carefully in the background. This image is made from 5 shots made in quick succession with a handheld camera and superposed manually in my pc.
My motivation has been to recreate the atmosphere of a particular night when a huge crowd of seagulls briefly assembled above and around our house, screaming and zigzagging, and I was not able to capture the scene properly into a single static shot.
It has been a long editing process, with a lot of trial and error, but I enjoyed the novelty of it. I am submitting this image to the ETSOOI challenge.
Beautifully combined Etienne - if you hadn't told us we would have never known. I like how the sequence of flight is shown with the birds at different heights leading off into the distance. :)
