I'm not sure if you already had that grainy look because it was film orif when you sharpened it the grainy look appeared. Either way in black-and-white it very definitely has a vintage feel to it!
@grammyn Good observation! Thanks. I think I may have sharpened it too much or applied too much structure in Silver Efex Pro. Also, I used to have my film shots printed on matte finish paper, and then when I began scanning them found that glossy prints sometimes scan better.
