A time to listen

Late this afternoon I was taking pictures at the Botanic Garden. After a few shots, I began talking with a woman who was feeling overwhelmed by family problems, including the recent death of her sister. She had never visited the garden but something had drawn her there looking for some peace. We shared stories, surprised at some of the things we had in common. The light faded and I didn't get any more photos, but I came away with something more important. She said she'd come back when the irises and day lilies begin to bloom, as they are our favorites.

BTW this is a Katrina rose, which I have posted before. I have one in my yard. It's a symbol of resilience and strength. https://www.southernliving.com/home-garden/gardens/rose-survived-katrina
What beautiful shades of pink you captured. I love that you put aside your own concerns to listen to this grieving woman. I’m sure she was comforted.

A gorgeous flower . I feel certain your contribution to her was far more important than getting a few more flower shots on this day! God bless you Diane

This is beautiful as was the sacrifice of your photo shoot for someone who needed you. Pictures are everywhere but opportunities to minister like that don't come as often. I think you were there by Divine appointment.

@olivetreeann I think sometimes we are where we are meant to be. Also, I learned so much from talking with her....
