Old Livingston Parish Courthouse by eudora

Old Livingston Parish Courthouse

Built in 1835, the building has been a bank, a courthouse and a store. IDK if the roof damage is from Hurricane Ida.
Beautiful lines and colors

I was going to say it looks in pretty good shape except for that roof! I feel like you have shown this before but perhaps it is just the basic construction which looks familiar? At any rate it’s a fabulous photo and I for one am really glad that you are documenting all these historic places!

It seems so different to see the red brick after the wood structures. And how ironic to see such an old structure with a satellite dish on the side!

Lovely building even in the state it is.

@grammyn Thanks! I have shot other buildings that look similar, but this is a new find for me. It's a block away from a road I drove many times, but never knew this was there.

@olivetreeann Good point! Apparently, there were plans to make it a museum, so maybe it was installed then. There are so many wonderful old buildings and it's hard to find uses for them. We only need so many museums!
