Great composition and cool old house. I visited that museum back in 1988.

Gorgeous capture of this early American home! Looks exceedingly well kept!

It may be old and a bit worn but it has some great character to it and it's lasted longer than some newer stuff that gets built now! Good shot.

Those logs look very much like the ones at my house which are "supposed" to date from the 1830s (no real records). This is some confirmation that at least mid-1800s might not be too far off.

@allie912 @haskar @zilli @grammyn @congaree @olivetreeann Thanks for all your comments. This museum was started by one man, Steele Burden, who wanted to preserve the material culture of the rural South. He bought and moved buildings and thousands of artifacts to his property, which he and his sister left to LSU. The buildings are often open, but this one was closed the day I went.

@margonaut Here's some info about the house, which mentions the joints. https://www.hmdb.org/m.asp?m=88566. That may or may not help date your house!
