Manitou Springs by exposure4u

Manitou Springs

I headed to Manitou Springs this morning for a few shots of Fountain Creek and the bridges. This little town is nestled in the foothills of Pikes Peak. This spot here has a great restaurant, that in the summer, is a great place to eat outside along the creek! I just love this artsy little town with all it's history!
Oooo! Looks like a great place! Beautiful shot, Wendy!

Like a painting - I would love to learn how to do HDR - can this be done with a P&S?

Wendy, I concur, great little artsy town. Great shot and processing. What's your favorite restaurant there? Thanks.

@myhrhelper Thank you Kathy! I use Photomatix for my HDR, but I believe P&S has the capability too, but I haven't used it yet. Photomatix merges the photos for you and then you have the ability to make adjustments before saving. I then take my HDR photo into either Photoshop or Lightroom to make further adjustments. Thanks for asking!
@ronphotos365 Thank you Ron! For breakfast and lunch, I enjoy Adams Mountain Cafe (pictured here at the Spa building). For a nice dinner (on the pricey end), my favorites are the Briarhurst Manor and Craftwood Inn.

I think @myhrhelper means can a point and shoot be used (not Photoshop). If you can manually adjust exposure then sure. You need at least three images about 2 stops apart, but ideally about 8 images a stop apart each would be ideal. I use Nik software's HDR Efex Pro, but Photomatix is also really popular.

This is sweet. It looks like a wonderful place to stroll in the sunshine

@kenwallacefilms Thanks for the clarification Ken! That's what I get for working late and getting up too earyly, lol! @myhrhelper Ken is right and 8 images will give you the full range of exposures for the HDR. I have typically used 3-5 photos and have been happy with the outcome.
