@austin1966 @peterdegraaff This was actually the home of William Jackson Palmer, founder of several railroads and the city of Colorado Springs. He had purchased several acres of land in the Colorado Springs area and then also purchased an additional 2,225 acres in the beautiful valley he had found near Garden of the Gods, where he began the construction of their estate. He first lived in a carriage house with his wife, before building a 22 bedroom frame house that later they turned into a castle. This structure and property was very very close to the fire line that ripped through my neighborhood in July. I am so happy it was spared!
