I dedicate this photo to the innocent victims of the Boulder, Colorado shootings this past week. This was taken at sunrise on March 16th, just 6 days before the shootings at the King Soopers in Boulder, Colorado. I happened to be in the area the week prior and went to shoot the Flatirons after an incredible snowstorm. It was a beautiful crisp morning, peaceful, and full of beauty and fresh Colorado air. I have been fortunate over the past few months to spend some time in Boulder hiking several of the trails in the area. The King Soopers on Table Mesa Road happened to be the King Soopers I would stop at to get snacks on the way up to Table Mesa to hike. It breaks my heart for the beautiful, peaceful college community. It breaks my heart for the innocent lives taken all too soon. It breaks my heart we live in a world where this is becoming all too common. Hug your children, your family, and friends...life is precious.
Truly heart-breaking. As a former Coloradan, this horrible tragedy really hits home. Friends in Boulder, played sports at Columbine, frequented the theater... Geez, will it never end? A lovely tribute image.
Another tragic, senseless, and heartbreaking event. Mass shootings have become expected - the only unknown is where or when. And nothing is done. It's shameful.
This is a beautiful tribute to a collective grief.
