Looking for Trouble

I think we are going to name the last calf born 'Trouble' because he certainly seems to find it all the time!
He and his mom are now with the main herd. This means the boy has to keep up and go where the rest go.
However, being the last born, he is the baby of the group and tends to get tired easily. He will lay down where ever he is, and go to sleep even if the rest of the cows wander off. (As shown in this picture)
He must have done that today, and then woke up all alone. He must have then got up and wandered away rather than stay put.
Mom did not know where he was and began searching and bawling for him. Bruce and I joined in the search, and three hours later we found him.
Not a productive way to spend an afternoon, but it was one of the first really nice days we've had so it was good to go for a long walk through our pastures and woods.
couple of trouble makers you have there.

It's amazing how calves can hide themselves away among the long grass...you would be slightly worried to say the least , 3 hours is a long time to look!! He looks a grand boy!
