You were wondering what my tree stand looked like. This is the tree stand that I waited so patiently for.
So sorry I could not get a better picture - but it is actually really well hidden by branches so it makes it difficult to get a decent clear shot.
The platform is about 20 feet up a cedar tree.It is really hard to see - but there is a platform at the top with arm rests that double as railings to prevent you from falling out.
You can just see a horizontal bar going from the ladder to the tree near the bottom of the picture. This acts as a stabilizer for the ladder, and is tied to the tree very securely.
There is also a foot rest that folds away when you need to climb over.
The front bar that is quite noticeable is another guard that you have to duck under when climbing in and off the platform.
The tree stand looks quite scary - but it is so well designed that you feel very safe up there.

Thanks for taking the trouble to take a photo for me. Its a great idea they have them in the woods around me for deer stalkers. My son has a friend who is a stalker and has a welding business and apparently he makes quite a few and sells them. This looks like a nice sturdy structure. As you have probably seen I have quite a respectable view from my garden over farmland into a woodland. The only little problem with it is that there is a hedge in the way that makes it difficult to photograph it how I would like. I now know what I need. A free standing lookout. Thanks again!
