Belly Deep in Grass by farmreporter

Belly Deep in Grass

The pasture cycle can be most frustrating with so much growth in early spring that the animals cannot keep up. To top it off, sheep like the short, soft grass whereas the cows will eat the taller stuff. There is very slow growth in late summer so we need to supplement with hay or animals will eat the pasture right down to the soil.
Nice shot with the suckling lamb struggling to get between mom and the tall grass.

To think of all the snow you had. Certainly doesn't stunt the grass growth.
