This particular solar farm caused a great deal of uproar in a neighbouring county since it was erected on 100 acres of prime farmland surrounded by prosperous dairy and crop farms.
There were numerous rallies against the project, petitions sent in to all levels of government, and even the local municipal council objected to the province.
The solar farms in my own Glengarry County were not erected on prime farmland - instead over 400 acres of old stand forests were taken down to make way for the solar farms.
We have a solar farm near our house. It's about 1 mile by a half mile in size. It's huge. We got tons of sunshine, so it's a good fit for southern NC. I can't get this close to our to take pictures.
