First Rose by farmreporter

First Rose

My country garden is usually weeks behind those found in nearby towns. I have no idea why. Perhaps the concrete and buildings in an urban setting hold the heat faster than my single dwelling located high on a hill.
So, every year I admire local flower beds and gardens while impatiently waiting for mine to sprout.
Finally! My first rose of the season! There are a ton more to come according to the buds on the plants.
We're still waiting for our first rose to come through Even though I grabbed a shot of one at my in- laws a week or so ago. They only live15 mins away. This is lovely. The train drops on the petals are great 😊

Beautiful! It as so warm here last winter, my little rose bush in the backyard pretty much never stopped blooming. We only had a couple of weeks where it actually felt like winter. The Southern U.S. is strange that way, not that I'm complaining!

I have one rose that has bloomed in our front garden this week too :) it is a light pink colour and it is on a bush that is over 6ft tall - nature grows as it wants in our garden. Does your rose have much of a scent Wendy? @farmreporter

Lovely. I just realised something - you should maybe tag this photo and your floral still life photos as "30dayswild".
