Reflections of the Night

Annie Metcalfe @blueace has challenged me to take some night time shots with a bonus if stars and the moon are involved.
No bonus here, and I am not really happy with my attempts yet. Looks pretty with the lights and reflections, but I want to do a deeper, darker night shot - perhaps at the old driveshed on our farm. Must figure that out!
Annie @blueace
Here's my first attempt at night photography - had to use some lights to get a good shot. Want to figure out how to do this using more ambient light - and stars!

You have some lovely light on the water here and Iike the way the streetlights look like stars.

A
I like the colours and the reflections here, but there's perhaps too much darkness to the left and bottom so you might want to think about cropping that down. I agree with Paul that the streetlights are almost like stars

That is a hard challenge Wendy but you have done well here. No moon or stars but starry lights!

Good start on the challenge. I agree with what's been said above. Good luck with this.

@blueace Will try cropping - thanks!

Don't the star busts count for half a bonus point?

Well done

I think this is beautiful Wendy, fav. Such a clever idea to do not only a street scene but to also capture the refections as well.

I found it amazing! Great reflenctions and lights!

How slow a shutter speed did you use, Wendy?
I love the movement in the reflections in the water.
I agree with the comment about cropping ... try a letterbox and straighten your horizon ... you've got a keeper there.
