This is my first official picture of 2017 and it is a response to my Get Pushed challenge from Amanda Powell @froggie0628 who noticed that I had no selfies in my album. While she did allow me to do something other than a full facial, I decided to dive in with this and doing a selfie wasn't half as bad as I thought it would be. (Though I am far more comfortable behind my camera than in front)
It is also the first photo posted that was taken with my new D7200 which I am SO delighted to have. While I was really comfortable with my old D80, it finally completely died on me over the holidays.
@froggie0628 Thanks for the selfie challenge, Amanda! It was a great challenge to do since I now know how to use the timer and I also learned how to manually set the ISO, aperture, and shutter speed!
Well hi there! Nicely done. Yes, all that business of gettin the camera to focus on someone who isn't yet in the picture is really quite surprising almost the first time you do it. I like the light background
@la_photographic Thank you! I haven't been keeping up with the challenges so I really appreciate you letting me know about it. Will tag it for the b&w challenge!
Great selfie. I don't have many selfies in my project either. Thanks for the Get Pushed challenge. This week how about doing a monochrome abstract, not necessarily black and white. This was my challenge from last week and it was fun.
@homeschoolmom Thanks, Lisa for the great challenge! It does sound like fun. When you say monochrome - you mean just one colour with different tones and/or textures of that colour? It can be any colour that I want but just one?
wonderful, wonderful, wonderful. i do believe these are some of the most difficult shots to take and you have done such a great job. nice! and congrats on the new camera. not supposed to voice jealousy here but hey, hey, hey. . .
Thought so and thank you!
