It is almost a mile from where I am standing to the trees - lots of productive farmland in between!
From front to back there is fresh cut hay waiting to be picked up in the foreground, a farmer cutting hay in the next section, a field of hay ready to be cut behind him, and a field of corn just coming up at the very back just in front of the trees.
Today was the first day in weeks that we did not have any precipitation at all so area dairy farmers attacked their thick and tall hay fields.
They are able to put their hay into silos while it is still wet. Other livestock producers who need to dry their hay will need to wait for a week or so for the ground to dry.
