Had the whole family over to celebrate the birthday of my oldest daughter. She is now 31 years old ... seems like just yesterday when I was holding her in my arms!
happy birthday to your daughter. however, i think that parents, especially mothers, should also be greeted on their children's milestones. so congratulations to you!
Hi Wendy, I'm so grateful to be paired with you for my first get pushed challenge! I've enjoyed reviewing your albums. Please choose one of the following four options for get pushed challenge 318:
1) As Grant Wood spent some time in my hometown of Cedar Rapids, I would love to view an updated version of your interpretation of American Gothic (similar to your profile pic, which I love). How would you represent yourself today-- would you have a camera around your neck, be holding a lamb, or standing on the steps of a school bus?
2) You may also choose to replicate a Grant Wood landscape or garden instead of a selfie. If you choose a landscape shot, please use the lens you mentioned purchasing, the Sigma 17-50 mm F2.8 EX DC OS, for your landscape. Likewise, you may choose to further emulate the work of artists Franco Fontana or Dale Nichols, both of whom have also appeared in your project, with your own additional stylistic twist. It's more about seeing you and your sensibility come through, even when viewing the world from the lens of anther artist.
3) While you include many wonderful images of life on the farm, one scene that appears to be less present is that of the kitchen. Working farm kitchens have a character all of their own, and I would love to see yours. I would be particularly drawn to an artfully composed still life, rustic food photography of something prepared or eaten in your kitchen, or an architectural and/or decor shot. Hopefully this would be an image that would appeal to the viewers' sense of home, as well as the five senses.
4) Photograph a word (such as FARM, HOME, DOG, KITCHEN) made of letters either created by found objects or those that appear naturally in your surroundings. For example, the word "KITCHEN" could be composed of kitchen utensils shaped into the appropriate letters. Each letter may also be it's own image with all the letters collated into a collage to create the finished word. Or, the entire word could be contained in just one image--its your choice. In addition, you may decide to process the finished word in black and white, sepia, or natural monotones. @northy
