I snapped a shot of our lots that I found on this old map posted on the wall of the Old Beaver Schoolhouse at the Glengarry Pioneer Museum.
We are on Lots 12 and 13 at the end of the road (just west of '23').
I guess the pioneers were in no mood to build another bridge to cross the river!
The old road turned south at that point and became a trail that meandered from homestead to homestead. There are three old home sites that I know of on our farm as well as remnants of the old road.
Such history!
