I spent some time at the carousel at Upper Canada Village knowing that I would be able to get a great shot to enter the Festive Street Challenge - except - the challenge was over and voting up when I went to upload this.
Oh well ... that'll teach me to procrastinate!
But then - Whoo Hoo!! I realized that this would work for the Song Title Challenge!!
Here's the lyrics that fit this shot perfectly:
And the seasons they go round and round
And the painted ponies go up and down
We're captive on the carousel of time
We can't return we can only look behind
From where we came
And go round and round and round
In the circle game
It's still a good capture, even if you missed the competition. I love how you captured the expression on the girls face. That lead pony looks like he is sprinting toward the finish line.
Great song and a good photo to go with it!Good you (almost) met the challenge ... and very well too! Ladies of the Canyon is/was a fab album and I remember it first time round. Bet you don't! :-))
@yrhenwr
Bet you're wrong about my memory ... I don't have that problem yet - lol!
I knew that this would work for the song title because I had an ear worm with the words
"And the seasons they go round and round
And the painted ponies go up and down
We're captive on the carousel of time ... "
I was late for the festive Street challenge but on time for the Song Title so this shot will see some competition yet!
I love Joni Mitchell. I love the song. I love the capture. Fav.
I had all her albums, then all her CD's. She lived near me in her 1970's hey day but I never saw her. :(
